Recorded on January 14, 2026. The Clinical & Translational
Science Training Program (CTSTP) provides participants with more than 50 hours
of didactic and interactive instruction in clinical and translational science
competencies. Each session features experienced researchers and experts
covering an array of topics, including clinical trials, epidemiology,
biostatistics, behavioral and outcomes research, and more.
The meeting focused on clinical trial design, with Dr. Bert Neighbors providing an overview of experimental therapeutics and clinical trial phases, particularly Phase 0-2 studies. Dr. Nicole Brooks then presented on behavioral trials in multiple sclerosis research, sharing her experience with diet interventions and the importance of incorporating behavioral theories like HAPA into study design. The session concluded with a discussion of sample size determination, participant recruitment strategies, and measurement considerations for behavioral outcomes in chronic disease research.
