Analyzing patient and clinic level data from the O'Neal Cancer Center throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become apparent that among patients who have adopted telemedicine, those who utilize audio-only visits are more likely to be Black, older, from lower income ZIP codes, and publicly insured. Addressing these disparities in telemedicine use via insurance reimbursement and telemedicine expansion will be important to improve equity for our patients, even beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
